St. Stephen’s Green House is a 1960’s office block and the former HQ of the Irish Sugar Company. It is situated in a landmark location between Leeson Street and Earlsfort Terrace on the corner of St. Stephen’s Green.
The project entailed the upgrade and fit-out of the protected 3rd floor which had remained un-altered since its original construction and fit out in the 60’s. The project brought the office space up to modern standards while retaining as much of the executive floor’s character and features of the era as possible.
Ceilings were stripped out and replaced with plasterboard while electrical routes were renewed. Timber panelling was sanded back and treated for fire containment, new fire doors installed and clad in matching timber sheeting. Existing doors were upgraded to fire-rated status. An original partitioning system was maintained and altered to suit a new layout. A secure room was created complete with steel security features while minor asbestos containing materials were appropriately removed by specialists.
